Peter Schuurman

"I think it's really cool to now support the church at the intersection of technology and support."

After a graduation project at Open Doors Netherlands, which focused on connecting the Persecuted Church with the church in the Netherlands, I ended up in a job as a process operator in a food factory after completing my Communication studies, due to an economic crisis at the time.

After 10 years of shift work, during which, driven by a desire to connect, I also took on a voluntary role in internal communications, it was time for something new. That became a Fullstack Developer bootcamp, followed by a job as a communications and support officer at Kerkdienstgemist. This role combined my faith-based work, my fascination with technology, helping people, and supporting the church in a truly engaging way.

During my years at Kerkdienstgemist, I developed a desire to move further into the tech field. I got that opportunity when, following Kerkdienstgemist's acquisition by Donkey Mobile, I was offered the opportunity to become Technical Church Success Manager. I'm thrilled to now be working at the intersection of technology and support to support the church in implementing and optimizing both products, ensuring they do what they were designed for: building and connecting the church as a community and helping spread the message of hope.
